The recurring theme in so many of Obama's speeches is moral authority, usually the specific lack of it in the American Government, at least until he was elected, it seems.

On Sunday May 31, 2009 Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed in Kansas.
On Sunday May 31, 2009 President Obama issued the following statement regarding the killing of Dr. Tiller, within hours of the event.
"I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence."On June 1, 2009 an American Muslim convert who said he was opposed to the U.S. military shot two soldiers outside an Arkansas recruiting station, killing one of the soldiers.
It took Obama
three days of being bombarded by the conservative press to finally issue a public statement regarding the event.
“I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe.
