 | .: Openly contesting extremist views |

"Contesting the radical Islamist narrative does not mean arresting or banning despicable but protected speech; rather, it means openly contesting extremist views by offering alternatives and fostering deeper ideological debate." Fighting the Ideological Battle: The Missing Link in U.S. Strategy to Counter Violent ExtremismBy Matthew Levitt As nonaffiliate terrorist actors begin to take center stage and al-Qaeda's core strength diminishes, it has become clear that America is at war with a larger enemy: the extremist ideology that fuels and supports Islamist violence. Unfortunately, the United States is not well equipped to fight on this ideological battleground, and U.S. efforts to confront the ideology worldwide have not kept pace with more successful military targeting of high-level al-Qaeda leaders. | .: A worse moment in Muslim history |

"Islam is a religion that is 1,400 years old, and there have been many different forms of it. There have been times and places when Islam was tolerant, at least in comparison to other civilizations at that time. Today, clearly, that's not the case. Indeed, speaking as a historian of Islam, I would say there has never been a worse moment in Muslim history." - Daniel Pipes
Elwood McQuaid Interview with the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry
EDITOR'S NOTE: Executive editor of Israel My Glory Magazine, Elwood McQuaid, spoke recently with Daniel Pipes, founder and director of the Middle East Forum and one of the world's leading experts on Islam and related issues. We are privileged to print edited excerpts from that interview. Continued...

 | .: 'Ambush them using every stratagem of war' |

“Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.” Qur’an:9:5 Islam Must Be Stopped In America
by Amil Imani
Islam has spawned many sects that are master practitioners of the art of double standards. As far as Muslims are concerned, what is good for Muslims is not good for the non-Muslims; and what is bad for Muslims is good for non-Muslims. Continued...

 | .: Muslim-only towns and urban enclaves |
"The possibility that Muslim-only towns and urban enclaves could be created inside the U.S. seems like a fantasy to most Americans at the moment, but there is precedent in Europe. The French government actually has a website where it tabulates 751 "sensitive urban zones," which have been accurately described as "no-go zones." In these areas, which are mostly populated by Muslim immigrants, there is a high level of crime and hostility to any governing authority, including law enforcement. Police officers do not regularly patrol the areas and they are as close to being autonomous regions as possible without the erecting of an actual parallel government." Muslim Enclaves U.S.A. Building the American Caliphate, One Enclave at a Time by Ryan Mauro It seems almost unthinkable, but Islamist groups are, as we speak, hard at work creating Muslim states-within-states in the U.S. Indeed, this process has been unfolding for a long time across the Western world, through the creation of isolated Muslim enclaves in both rural and urban areas, as well as through the designation of " no-go zones" where governments admit to having little authority over Muslims living there, essentially leaving them to function as autonomous regions. | .: Slavery of the mind |

"It is a painful process of growing up, of asserting one’s coming of age, and marching lockstep with the free members of the human race. Slavery of the mind is as evil as the slavery of the body. Islamofascisim enslaves them both." Understanding Muslims’ Mindset
by Amil Imani
Diffusing the present dangerous confrontation between Islam and the West demands rational impartial and cool heads to untangle facts from myth, understand the Muslims’ mindset, and redress any grievances on either side. Continued...

 | .: Ground for mutual understanding and peace |
"You may recall that Israel is the "Little Satan" of Islamic lore. America is the "Great Satan." Who is spreading this hatred, and how can it be stopped? Our leaders today in the West imagine that negotiation can overcome this hatred. I would argue, instead, that we must insist on a more fundamental ground for mutual understanding and peace." The Game of Hate
by J. R. Nyquist The day before yesterday a perfect stranger buttonholed me in a parking lot. She began by commenting on the weather, then it turned into a soliloquy about illegal aliens, then digressed into a diatribe against Israel, then into a rant against the Jews, then into holocaust denial, and finally she said a few kind words about Adolf Hitler. What brought all this on? She was agitated by the Israeli Defense Force's interception of the "Free Gaza" flotilla. "How dare the Israelis blockade starving women and children!" Continued...

 | .: A distinction between religion and Ideology |

"I completely agree... about the need to have a clear distinction between religion and Ideology. Islam that only works inside a mosque as a form of individual worship can be considered a religion. However, Islam that is used as a political power and a controlling system for the society must be treated as an Ideology." - Tawfik Hamid American Ideological Society
introduces Symposium: When Does a Religion Become an Ideology?
by Jamie Glazov In this special edition of Frontpage Symposium, we have invited two distinguished guests to discuss the question: When does a religion become an ideology? Our guests today are: Tawfik Hamid, an Islamic thinker and reformer who is the author of Inside Jihad: Understanding and
Confronting Radical Islam. A one-time Islamic extremist from Egypt, he was a member of Jemaah Islamiya, a terrorist Islamic organization, with Dr. Ayman Al-Zawahiri, who later became the second in command of al-Qaeda. He is currently a senior fellow and chairman of the study of Islamic radicalism at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.

 | .: Doing exactly what the Jihadists want us to do |
"The terms Jihadists and Islamists are not descriptive of Islam or Muslims but of the forces which claim to do so. If we drop these very words we would be doing exactly what the Jihadists want us to do: linking them to the entire community instead of separating them from the majority of Muslims." Ignoring al Qaeda’s ideology is a threat to US national security By Walid Phares In preparation for the publicizing for the new National Security Strategy by the Obama Administration, Mr John Brennan, White House Advisor on Counter Terrorism said the President’s strategy "is absolutely clear about the threat we face." From such an announcement one would project that the new narrative would be as precise as it should be. That is to define the ideology and the goals of the forces we're facing, namely the Jihadists, either Salafists or Khomeinists. Unfortunately, it was just the opposite. Continued...

 | .: 'It is the nature of Islam to dominate' |

"Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna said, "It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated; to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet." Hassan al-Banna _______________________________________ The Narrative of DefeatBy Janet Levy It is now life-threatening to criticize or mock Islam in the United States of America. The creators of South Park, Viacom, and anyone associated with the production of a recent episode portraying Mohammed in a bear suit would have potentially risked life and limb if they had broadcast the original cartoon sketch. In a manner eerily reminiscent of the Danish cartoon jihad, a Brooklyn-based Muslim group called Revolution Muslim posted a threat to South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker for their "outright insult" to the prophet. | .: Hollywood's collective shrug |

"The American entertainment community's response to Islamic challenges was set in stone when Theo Van Gogh was knifed to death in the street for offending Muslim sensibilities with his film. Hollywood's collective shrug was heard around the world. No stirring speeches, no defiant editorials, not even a passing frame in the annual memoriam Oscar tribute." The silence of Hollywood in the face of murderous jihadis
by Stella Paul The street vendor in Times Square's theater district who called the cops about an explosive-laden SUV had a message for New Yorkers: "If you see something, say something." But for normally talkative entertainment professionals -actors, directors, writers, producers - the watchword continues to be, "If you see something, shut up." Continued...
